Finished VBL’s new song “Altered Beast”.

Performed alongside Russell Daisey (singer/songwriter), Dr. Judy Kuriansky (popular radio personality) and Juma Sultan (played and recorded with Jimi Hendrix and Richie Havens) at the United Nations organized International Peace Day event. Pictured also with China diplomat Alice Liu.

Two American acting legends, Michael Rispoli (The Sopranos, Made in Brooklyn + so much more) and Ed O’Ross (Lethal Weapon, Full Metal Jacket, Terminator 3, + so much more), had just finished making their speeches being honored for lifetime achievement at the festival. Then they announced best music category and I had to follow them; I was humbled and felt very fortunate.

I arranged, produced, mixed and mastered the track.

I helped co-produce a show for the 350 Newark Celebration event, “MUSLIM VOICES”. It will be held in The Billy Johnson Auditorium at the Newark Museum on Saturday, December 3rd, from 1pm to 4pm. Edin Valez’s film seminar is creating 6 short docs featuring several Muslim communities in the City, and there will be a special tribute to Muhammad Ali. Mayor Ras Baraka has been invited to conduct a reading of his father’s poetry. Here is the Eventbrite link to review the program outline and for registration.

Produced recording of “Freedom Song” today by Diane Kaufmann (poet), David Kerr (composer). Musical director and conductor Jason Tramm led the MidAtlantic Orchestra players and Seton Hall University Choir brilliantly as they executed superbly! Jacqueline Anabwani (orator) delivered a compelling interpretation of Dr. Kaufmann’s text. Fred Trunz served as my audio engineer for the day and collaboratively we captured the ensemble in a beautifully balanced recording. Many thanks to Rev. Richard E. Davidson for providing listening system and all involved for a smooth day!
